Dear Masters, members and supporters,
The Joint Masters of the Ottawa Valley Hunt cordially invite you to join them for their upcoming 150th Anniversary Celebration. Four fabulous days beginning the evening of Thursday the 19th of October until Sunday the 22nd of October.
The Anniversary Festival will be hosted at the Ottawa Valley Hunt kennels with the hunts leaving from this location. Stabling and accommodations will be close to the festivities. The extravaganza will start with most guests arriving on Thursday the 19th of October. All visiting horses will be stabled at Wesley Clover Equestrian Park, one of Ottawa’s best Equestrian Facilities. Once horses are settled and hunt enthusiast have checked into their respective motels the President’s Meet n Greet will be hosted by the President of the Ottawa Valley Hunt, Mr. Doug Menzies and his wife Ms. Norma White. This will take place at the kennel under the big top from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Friday morning will begin with registered hunt enthusiasts and their guest(s) arriving at the kennel at 9:45 a.m. A parade of Special Guests, Masters, and staff will begin at 10:10 a.m. followed by announcements for the day. All riders must be mounted by this time. Stirrup cup will commence at 10:30 a.m. Hounds will be meeting at 11:00 a.m. and will leave from the kennel. An Ottawa Valley style hunt breakfast will follow at 2:00 p.m. Please relax and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow hunt people for as long as you wish. Cash bar will be open.
Saturday will be a day of rest for horses and will give guests a chance to explore the many sights and sounds of the Ottawa Valley and of course our capital city. The area is full of great wineries; restaurants; pubs; spas and unique boutiques. The Tommy Cavanagh Memorial 150th Gala with our Ottawa Valley theme of ‘Denim and Diamonds’ will begin with cocktails at 5:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. The evening feast will include special presentations; fabulous draws; a live auction and of course dancing and a Cash Bar. The night will wrap up under the stars!!
Sunday will begin with registered hunt enthusiasts and their guest(s) arriving at the kennel at 10:00 a.m. Riders must be mounted by 10:20 a.m. Stirrup cup will commence at 10:30 a.m. Hounds will be meeting at 11:00 a.m. and will leave from the kennel. A scrumptious Hunt Breakfast will follow at 2:00 p.m. Cash bar will be open. On completion of breakfast welcomed guest will either head home in various directions or travel back with horses to the park and their motels for the night and travel home Monday morning.
The weekend is meant to showcase our love for Riding to Hounds and the success of the Ottawa Valley Hunt in its 150th year. The Ottawa Valley has much to offer for people of all ages, so why not join us in hunting this beautiful part of the world and celebrating the magic that is The Hound!!

OVH 150th CELEBRATION: STABLING INFORMATION
The OVH is excited to announce that Wesley Clover Parks, a world class equestrian center, will be stabling all the horses participating in the OVH 150th celebration. Here is the information you should know:

Stabling Area Access: Access to the stabling area is EAST of Wesley Clover’s main gates.
Stabling Cost
The cost is $260.00 for the event.
What is included in the stabling cost:
- Arrival date of Thursday October 19, 2023 and departure date of Sunday October 22, 2023.For those that require an earlier arrival date of Wednesday October 18, 2023 and/or a latter departure date of Monday October 23, there is no extra cost for those additional dates.
- 12x12 large stall
- 2 Bags of Shavings.(Any shavings needed beyond this are priced at $10.00 per bag.)

Vaccinations
Horses attending must have been administered Equine Influenza and Equine Herpes Virus (1&4) vaccinations within 6 months (+21 days grace period) before arrival at the event. No horse shall receive vaccination within 7 days prior to arrival at the event. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be asked to leave the event site. The frequency of vaccine administration should be as recommended by the vaccine manufacturer or veterinarian. It is recommended that vaccines be administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccines, a letter from a veterinarian on official letterhead must be provided, stating the horse cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns.

Agreement for Release and Waiver of Liability
I request permission to participate in cross-country riding and foxhunting with the Ottawa Valley Hunt. I fully understand that cross-country horseback riding and foxhunting (which includes riding over fences, other obstacles, and dangerous and rough terrain) are very dangerous activities. I wish to participate in these activities knowing they are dangerous. I accept and assume all the risks of injury (including death) to me or guardians and legal representatives. I release and agree not to make or bring any claim of any kind against Ottawa Valley Hunt or it’s Masters, officers, directors, members, employees, or any landowners, landholders or other persons making property available for the Ottawa Hunt Club, for injury (including death), to me or any damage to my property arising out of my participation in these dangerous horseback riding, foxhunting or related activities: and I also agree if anyone makes any claims because of any injury to me (including death) or for any damage to my property, I will keep all those released by this agreement free of any damages or costs because of those claims.
